Hi, there's a long-standing bug I reported on FreeBSD's bug tracker, which manifests in panel crashing when certain web pages are accessed from Chromium or Firefox while "Window Buttons" are present in the panel. With help of FreeBSD's port maintainer and some contributors, it was concluded that fonts are most probable cause of the problem, which is based mostly on the fact that crashes don't happen when x11-fonts/droid-fonts-ttf port is installed as a system font. I was instructed to report the bug here. Here's link to FreeBSD's bugzilla's page about this bug: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=206196
I'm following the FreeBSD bug where this issue started. while I have been unable to reproduce it on my system I'm reasonably sure it's fonts issue. We'd appreciate if someone could help give some pointers where to look at or how to extract some more useful information on how to correct this issue. Thanks!
Could this be related to #13765 ?
(In reply to haarp from comment #2) > Could this be related to #13765 ? The backtraces look similar enough, and also there it declares dying in cairo working with glyphs, so I think it is quite possible. This means a foix for 4.12 is not going to come? Unluckily I can't just update the port in FreeBSD to 4.13, since that would require updating the whole xfce there to the development version. Anything that can be done to help this out? Or a suggestion how to best mitigate the issue?
