Description Benedikt Meurer editbugs 2006-02-11 11:13:08 CET
Currently, the user can either select files manually, select all files or select
files by a simple pattern.

It'd be nice to have a more advanced "Select by Pattern" dialog, for example
http://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id=430&action=view or similar.

And in addition, the "Select by Pattern" should be removed from toplevel "View"
menu and replaced by a "Select..." submenu with:

* All Directories
* All Audio Files
* All Image Files
* All Text Files
* All Video Files
-----------------
Files By Pattern...

Where the first five behave similar to the options in the thunar-uca plugin. It
is often required to select only certain kinds of files in a folder, and one has
to switch to details view, sort by mime type and select manually then. Using
this simple mechanism it's only one click most of them time.

Maybe bit different terminology:

- Select Only
  * Directories
  * Audio Files
  * Image Files
  * Text Files
  * Video Files
  -------------
  * Files matching...

Dunno.

I don't think we really need that.
