From https://bugs.launchpad.net/catfish-search/+bug/1766912 I have a song in my music solder called either "You and Me" or "You & Me". If I search: you and me (no quotes) it finds all sings with any of those terms in their name. If I search using quotes it finds nothing despite there being files called "You and Me" and "You & Me" - see attachment. Is the quotes option coded incorrectly somehow? Does using quotes switch the search from 'all terms' to 'exact name' i.e. the file should be called "You & Me" and nothing more? I had 'exact search' off, FWIW. Also interestingly (perhaps?) if I search for the exact file in quotes: "Disclosure - You & Me Ft. Eliza Doolittle (Flume Remix).mp3" it gives me the spinning wheel 'working' cursor icon, seemingly indefinitely. This is on a new powerful machine & none of the CPUs seem to be in use. Actually I just got a crash report: CPU #14 stuck for 22s. Cheers guys. Xubuntu 17.10 catfish 1.4.2.
Sean Davis referenced this bugreport in commit 35830d3e5b5adf3d55c095b59751ca400eb2c2c0 Add support for quoted search strings (bug #14501) https://git.xfce.org/apps/catfish/commit?id=35830d3e5b5adf3d55c095b59751ca400eb2c2c0
The above commit seems to implement this feature.
