I installed xfce4 on my laptop. It seems that the default setting is to show the screensaver, when the laptop lid is closed.
The default setting for screensaver seems to be a random screensaver.

I closed my laptop lid and expected that it sleeps.
Instead, the screensaver was started and an OpenGL screensaver showed some molecules.
This caused the laptop to run high CPU/GPU loads and as I have put it in a bag, it heated up dramatically.

A notification would be good, even better it would be, that the default setting for closing the laptop lid is "sleep".
