This is a feature request. It would be nice if there was an option to open Whisker when you hover over the icon in the panel. It would make opening apps and searching a bit faster. Thanks and thanks for this great menu. I think it's the best menu system there is on Linux!
That wouldn't actually be faster. I would have to add a delay to the hover, otherwise the menu would easily pop up by accident and steal focus. And with a small delay it wouldn't be any faster (and probably slower) than just clicking on it. For absolute speed, I would suggest using a keyboard shortcut to bring it up. The search field is always focused when the menu pops up, so if you just hit the keyboard shortcut and start typing, that is the fastest way to get to the search. Otherwise, just pressing the down arrow repeatedly will bring you to one of your favorites. I'm glad you like Whisker Menu!
