The cursor pointing at shrunk window, in front of size of started normally.

Intel based x64 machine with Devuan v1 and did an dist upgrade recently.

I have spent the whole night till morning make sure that the configuration file of my terminator installation is correct:

When fired from another terminal with an argument:
$>terminator &
or
$>terminator -l "layout2" &

It works all fine.

After I defined terminator as the Preferred Application either just "terminator" (without quotes) or /usr/bin/terminator or /usr/share/terminator/terminator
It all didn't matter, the exo-open --launch way of opening it will lead to an opened window, stayed briefly opened in half-the-blink of an eye and then the window will shrink till its top bar size and then keeps on flickering, halt / or keeps on running something seemingly, and I had to press Alt-Tab to switch to activate some other application before I can go back to it and shut it close.

Terminator window has similar behavior if I launch it from the Applications Menu.
I can now launch it only through "Run Program ..." or through another terminal.

Same behavior was not exhibited by xterm or mate-terminal.

Thanks for bringing these good features to the community.
I really appreciate Xfce.

Cheers.

I am unable to reproduce this in Xubuntu with the following package versions. Does Devuan have relatively recent versions of each? If so, can you try this out again?

terminator 1.91-1
exo 0.12.2-1
