Created attachment 7504 xfdesktop-settings freezes and high CPU usage Manjaro 17.1-rc1 Hakoila Xfce 4.12.4 (Gtk 2.24.31) I'm trying to change my background but xfdesktop-settings freezes everytime and I can't click anywhere inside the window, and it has a high CPU usage, 25% each time it's opened. After closing the program it keeps open using CPU, and when I open it again another instance of the program launches and eats more 25% of my CPU. I have to manually kill the processes. It's not just CPU, once the system monitor was showing that xfdesktop-settings was consuming more and more RAM over time, it was reaching more than 600 MB when I killed the process, this happened once, the CPU issue and freezing happens all the time on Manjaro. This is weird because on Linux Mint 18.3 XFCE xfdesktop-settings is working well. Attached screenshot of xfdesktop-settings using 75% of CPU(I opened and closed it 3 times, 25% of CPU each time).
I solved this issue updating Xfce to Xfce 4.13.1git-UNKNOWN (Gtk 3.22.26) on Pamac > Groups > xfce4-gtk3. The xfdesktop-settings works now. New issue: now I have a problem with Compositor, windows are flickering as I move the cursor, I had to disable the Compositor to solve this.
I solved the Compositor issue removing xfdesktop 4.12.4-1 and installing xfdesktop-gtk3 4.13.1-7. I've installed and removed a few packages to test, here are the results: xfdesktop-gtk3 4.13.1-7 works xfdesktop 4.12.4-1 has bugs xfwm4 4.12.4-1 compositor works xfwm4-gtk3 4.13.0-5 compositor has bugs xfce4-panel 4.12.1-1 works xfce4-panel-gtk3 4.13.1-8 has bugs xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin 1.7.4-1 works xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin-gtk3 2.1.3-1 has bugs
Solved: I've removed xf86-video-intel and xfdesktop-gtk3 4.13.1-9 is working.
