Wayland is becoming more and more popular even the default in some linux distros. Sync between wayland and X clipboards is still an issue though. Presently my biggest issue switching to wayland is lack of properly working clipboard and clipboard manager. It seems like clipboard sync between Xwayland and wayland native requires some effort. Here is one implementation: https://blog.martin-graesslin.com/blog/2016/07/synchronizing-the-x11-and-wayland-clipboard/ Wrt primary selection, here's what gnome has: https://wiki.gnome.org/Initiatives/Wayland/PrimarySelection
Does this project have anything to do with XFCE clipman? https://github.com/yory8/clipman
