Hi everybody, I found at least two icon themes that seem not to work properly, even if everything is alright. I've been suggested to report a bug and I'm glad of doing it, but it's my first time, so I apologize if something is not written in the right way. Here are two discussions I started in the Xfce forum where the problems are explained: https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=11930 https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=11860 Let me know if some more information is needed. -Andrea-
Yes, it seems there are differences on how xfdesktop and thunar load icons, the latter is not loading the icon from the correct theme. This issue is also present in Thunar 1.7.0: https://i.imgur.com/juzNnkL.png
Weird, I can't reproduce this anymore with Thunar and xfdesktop from current git master: https://i.imgur.com/eGUjnuG.png
I tested with Thunar 1.8.7 and it did not show the correct icons for .odt and .zip files. https://github.com/n3storm/Matrilineare
Created attachment 8784 matrilineare screenshot (In reply to Theo Linkspfeifer from comment #3) > I tested with Thunar 1.8.7 and it did not show the correct icons for .odt > and .zip files. > > https://github.com/n3storm/Matrilineare I'm using that theme from AUR (so there may be differences) and here it looks good.
Does the icon size matter? The screenshot from comment #1 shows smaller icons (and a different view).
Icon view or size doesn't matter for Matrilineare, but Thunar needs to be refreshed (ctrl+r) to make sure icons are picked up. I'm starting to suspect this may be in part a theme issue. My results are: Adwaita/GNOME/High Contrast - only .docx icon look different, xfdesktop seems to pick the right one elementary Xfce/Faenza/Moka - icons look the same on both Matrilineare - completely different, hard to tell which one is right, but looks like it's xfdesktop
