OS : Ubuntu 16.04 LTS DE : XFCE 4.12 Web browser : Firefox Quantum 57.0.1 Description : On opening downloaded files folder in Firefox, it calls Nautilus instead of Thunar. It also changes my wallpaper by the default environment. (see attached clip) Firefox claims this is not a bug from Firefox but file manager. As temporary fix, I found replacing the line calling Nautilus by Thunar in /usr/share/applications/defaults.list worked. Should XFCE replace this line on installation ? (see attached picture).

This is caused because the defaults.list says to use Nautilus. Thunar has no control over that file; it is supplied by Ubuntu developers. So the best place to discuss this is on the Launchpad bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1719209 I have added the desktop-file-utils package to that bug as it is the supplier of defaults.txt.

Alright, thanks for your follow up. I had no idea who it may concern honnestly. I did report details in the launchpad 1719209 also.
This does not appear to be a bug in Xfce. Closing the report.
