I'm using xfce from SVN from last week (r19502). when compiling additional
plugins, like clipman 0.6 or xfdesktop, it builds without the .so suffix. The
plugins that come with the panel don't suffer from that problem.

I have no idea what info you really need, so please ask for what info you need.
The system is mandriva cooker, with glibc-2.3.5, gtk-2.8.10 and gcc-4.0

I have no idea. Sounds like a general libtool problem to me. What versions of
libtool, autoconf and automake are you using?
Comment 2 mpol 2006-01-29 10:42:54 CET
These are the versions installed:
libtool-1.5.20-5mdk
intltool-0.34.1-1mdk
automake1.8-1.9.6-3mdk
autoconf2.5-2.59-6mdk
glib-gettextize-2.8.6-1mdk

Hmm, those versions are fine. I really have no idea what the problem is, but I'm
almost sure it has something to do with the build tools.

Anyone else have a suggestion?

I've seen that before, it was a problem with the GNU auto tools IIRC.
Comment 5 Brian J. Tarricone (not reading bugmail) 2006-01-29 17:28:54 CET
Libtool, specifically. Sounds like you're using an old buggy version.
