When you insert a mixed-data CD, audio tracks from it are mounted to /dev/sr0 (in my case), while the data part is mounted into /run/media/USER/CD-LABEL. But with many old games you need the CD to be one device: the game looks for one and the same path as it's CD source. So either it doesn't detect the data part of the CD and refuses to launch or doesn't see the audio tracks and you don't get the music while you play.
