I'm running a 4K monitor and a 1080p monitor. I would like to run the 4k monitor at a different DPI to the 1080p monitor. Can you please add a custom DPI setting which allows you to set the DPI for each individual monitor. The problem is horrific because if i set the DPI required for my 4k display the 1080p monitor comes out looking horrible and it becomes unusable at low DPI settings. The DPI should also modify the scaling values, not only the font sizes.
Hi Gordon, TLDR; how did you get the DPI/zoom/scale to work correctly on a 4K monitor despite XFCE's display settings missing them? I'm one step behind. I only have a 4K monitor and just want to get to a 3840x2160 with 200% configuration but I don't know how to do it in XFCE because I'm used to Ubuntu where there's a zoom option but I couldn't find it or any similar option in XFCE. I tried playing with the DPI in Appearance -> Fonts but it didn't seem to work. I came here to report a bug that XFCE display-settings doesn't have a zoom/scale option and this bug seems to be the most relevant. I tried to add a 3840x2160 with 200% zoom using `xrandr` too but couldn't find any easier solution and even if I did everyone else who comes across the issue may have to do the same dance again and I would like instead everyone in the future to not come this far in the first place. Especially that it's not just about XFCE. For example, I first looked into Qubes OS reported bugs until I realized that it's mostly XFCE-related and users from other distros may spend sometime going through their distros too. And if `xrandr` has the root-cause for this then people will go through their distros, XFCE, and then `xrandr`:sweat_smile:. It's quite funny but I think the deeper in the dependency graph you are the more important that you provide what your users want. This is not a breakthrough and I already know it but this issue has made it more evident.
