Good evening XFCE team.

This is a feature request. If whiskermenu can have a minimal mode, it can be used as an application launcher in place of xfce-appfinder. In my machine, the search of whiskermenu includes far more items than appfinder and the former has fuzzy search too.

I would also appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction to develop this feature on my own.

Thanks.

I really don't want to add a +1 to this feature request, but it would be great. The search capability of whiskermenu has worked very well to me, but since I changed my panel arrange to be less obtrusive as possible, a menu button didn't make much sense. So I tried appfinder, but its search and usability wasn't that good, then xfdashboard, too much bloat IMHO (also I'm not a Gnome shell fan, on contrary) and for now I'm using gnome-do, which brings lots of C# dependencies and has some glitches.

I'm sorry, but I am not interested in adding or maintaining something completely outside of Whisker Menu's purpose. You could always use a keyboard shortcut to show Whisker Menu at your mouse cursor if you want to mimic the appfinder.

Maybe you can interest the developers of the appfinder in changing their search algorithm?
