Created attachment 7014 Screenshot of message from weather applet. I was checking the weather in the XFCE 4 weather applet (running XFCE 4.12 on Fedora 25) and noticed this message: Met.no LocationforecastLTS API states that this version of the webservice is deprecated, and the plugin needs to be adapted to use a newer version, or it will stop working within a few months. Please file a bug on https://bugzilla.xfce.org if no one else has done so yet. My forecast is still updating, but this might need to be kept in mind for the developers of the plugin. Not sure if other locations use met.no by default, but in Newark, Delaware, USA it does.
Created attachment 7017 weather-plugin-about-screenshot I am the downstream (fedora) maintainer of xfce4-weather-plugin. Did you log out and login after updating the applet or restart the applet in some other way? I am not seeing the message that you are describing here.

I'm also seeing the warning message; the package I have is: fc25 xfce4-weather-plugin-0.8.8-2.fc25.x86_64 but your detail page shows 0.8.9 - so perhaps the problem is that 0.8.9 hasn't made it to f25 yet? (Manchester, UK weather; currently rather wet and blowy - but hey that's not the weather applets fault...)
I'm seeing on Debian with xfce4-weather-plugin_0.8.8-1_amd64.deb in Stretch.

Yes. As far as Fedora 25 is concerned, the update should be on the way soon (at the moment, it is in testing repository). https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2017-7557c070d3
I can see the message too, but forecast is still updating in Athens, Greece. I can also see that there is no update for sunrise and sunset time and under 'Astronomical Data' there is the notice that: 'Data not available, will use sane default values for night and day'. I am running Xubuntu 16.04.2 64 bit.
All these problems are fixed in the current version (0.8.9). Have you noticed there were no older versions (probably yours?) to choose from when you created the bug report, or at least that there is a newer version available? Consider this as a slight hint to update. There is no use in reporting bugs that have been fixed some time ago. Your reports don't belong here nor do they help anyone. If your distribution doesn't provide the updates, there is nothing Xfce can do about it. Please ask your distribution support, it is very unlikely _they_ will read this here.

Thanks!

No, I am very sorry, I didn't see that this is the place for 0.8.9 version. Actually I am running 0.8.6-1 version and today I noticed the mentioned warning and I was worried. After your message I found the newest (0.8.9) version released 11 days ago and I will ask for some help about installation at my distribution's online support. Many thanks for your advise.
