Hello, I really like the idea of this plugin, it is really similar to TortoiseGit and I love it. But, at its current state, its completely unusable. Many of the functionality simply does not works. I get an empty GUI window when: 1. GIT-->Status 2. GIT-->Add
+1
May I actually comment that the aim of this plugin is probably way to high. After all, TortoiseGit has many developers and spends a lot of effort. Perhaps, it would be much more feasible to rather make a relatively thin layer-bridge between Thunar and some prominent GUI for Git, rather than trying to implement such a huge piece of software.
Agreed. Currently there is no maintainer for thunar-vcs, and it does not look like this will change soon. IMO would be perfectly fine to e.g. have a "thunar-gitKraken-plugin". SVN is not that relevant any more. But I dont have time to implement something like that. So if you are motivated, any contribution is welcome !
Oh, wait, not gitKraken, seems to be Proprietary licenced .. maybe gitg, git-cola, giggle, or whatever has GPL licence. GTk based would be nice as well.
What exactly do you mean by saying a "relatively thin layer-bridge"? For instance, if it do a right-click and select Git>Status that this will open, lets say, gitg and display the git status of that folder? So like, more or less, an alias or custom action?
