After clean install xfce4-panel-plugin-notes the background of the notes is transparent and you can't change it in the program properties. It should be configurable via program properties/settings window. openSUSE LEap 42.2 Xfce 4.12 xfce4-notes-plugin version: 1.8.1 -------------- <additional info / workaround> By default there is config file ~/.config/xfce4/xfce4-notes.gtkrc with following content: gtk_color_scheme = "notes_fg_color:#f7f7ebeb9696\nnotes_bg_color:#690963ef3fc9\nnotes_base_color:#f7f7ebeb9696\nnotes_text_color:#690963ef3fc9\nnotes_selected_bg_color:#88dc8236531d\nnotes_selected_fg_color:#f7f7ebeb9696" include "/usr/share/xfce4-notes-plugin/gtk-2.0/notes.gtkrc" --- After you create the file ~/.config/xfce4/xfce4-notes.rc with the Transparency=0, background of xfce4-notes (app) is correctly set to 0. However in case of panel app (xfce4-popup-notes) the background is still transparent.
