Description cuscotravelservices 2017-01-04 20:52:29 CET
Hello,

My Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball is not being detected.

It is not displayed in the Devices tab of Xfce Power Manager and hence nothing is displayed for the Trackball, neither, when you right-click on the panel icon.

The pertinent installed software, as far as I can determine, is the following.

xfce4-battery-plugin 1:1.0.5-2
xfce4-power-manager 1.5.2
xfce4-power-manager-data	1.5.2
xfce4-power-manager-plugins	1.5.2
upower 0.99.1-3.2

This is using MX-16.

Thanks, Michael.

However, the M570 is detected in the Mouse and Touchpad Applet.

I have the exact same mouse, and it shows up fine for me. Does your mouse show up if you run "upower -d" in the terminal?

For reference, mine shows up like this:

  Device: /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/mouse_hidpp_battery_0
    native-path: hidpp_battery_0
    model: M570
    serial: 1028-02-a3-e8-2c
    power supply: no

    has history: yes
    has statistics: yes
    mouse
      present: yes
      rechargeable: yes
      state: discharging
      warning-level: low
      percentage: 10%
      icon-name: 'battery-low-symbolic'

(Note: I don't really have any actual acquaintance with xfce4-power-manager's internals, but I think it detects this stuff through upower, but anyone with more knowledge on this can correct me if I'm completely wrong here)

Woowoo678: you're right, this all depends on what upower supports and my guess is that since the OP posted this bug >2yrs ago upower has gained support for this mouse.
