I'm using the drop down feature in Gnome on Wayland. I bound a keyboard shortcut to the `xfce4-terminal --drop-down` command. If I have the "Use shortcut to focus visible window" option turned on, the terminal will only close if I click on it to give it focus. If any other window is in focus, it will not switch focus; nothing happens at all.

Yeah, I'm not yet able to make any of the ways to set window focus that I know work under Wayland... Would be glad to get some help or advice on that.
