Just a little feature request, I've recentely seen that the recent version of KDE plasma 5.8 has a new function that disables desktop compositing when a game-like program is detected, I don't know if that works exactly like this, but when I open a game, even when I'm not in fullscreen, the desktop compositing is disabled and the performance are really nice.

Thank for your attention.

It's literally called, translated from the italian version "Allows applications to block compositing"
I think that a similiar function it's implemented into the GNOME desktop.
