What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Open Terminal. 2. Go to "Edit -> Preferences...". 3. Go to "Appearance" tab. 4. Set "Default geometry" of columns to "80". 5. Hit "Close" button. 6. Go to "Edit -> Preferences...". 7. Go to "Appearance" tab. 8. In the field "80" not displays.
Cannot reproduce here... Does it only happen with 80 columns for you? is it 100% reproducible? What is your system: OS, GTK version?

Are you sure you are using version 0.6.90? It's not in Ubuntu repos, as far as I can tell. Did you build it from source?

Indeed, I can reproduce it in 0.6.3. But, it's not reproducible in current git version - hence, I'm closing this as fixed.
