I'm running Cinnamon on Arch Linux, 64 bit. My desktop background is set to gray color, no images. When I'm opening a text file with mousepad, it changes the desktop settings to zoomed picture and selects one of the images (the default one?) as a background. I've just started using mousepad, and I have never seen this with other text editors.
These are the messages produced by mousepad: (mousepad:20127): GtkSourceView-CRITICAL **: gtk_source_style_scheme_get_id: assertion 'GTK_IS_SOURCE_STYLE_SCHEME (scheme)' failed (mousepad:20127): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_new_string: assertion 'string != NULL' failed (mousepad:20127): GtkSourceView-CRITICAL **: gtk_source_style_scheme_get_id: assertion 'GTK_IS_SOURCE_STYLE_SCHEME (scheme)' failed (mousepad:20127): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_new_string: assertion 'string != NULL' failed (mousepad:20127): GtkSourceView-CRITICAL **: gtk_source_style_scheme_get_id: assertion 'GTK_IS_SOURCE_STYLE_SCHEME (scheme)' failed And these are produced by Cinnamon when the background gets changed: (cinnamon-settings-daemon:648): CinnamonDesktop-WARNING **: Failed to set the background '/usr/share/backgrounds/gnome/adwaita-timed.xml': GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: No such method 'SetBackgroundFile' (cinnamon-settings-daemon:648): CinnamonDesktop-WARNING **: Failed to set the background '/usr/share/backgrounds/gnome/adwaita-timed.xml': GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: No such method 'SetBackgroundFile' (cinnamon:726): St-CRITICAL **: st_widget_get_theme_node called on the widget [0x210e930 StScrollView.popup-sub-menu] which is not in the stage. I'm running a Manjaro VM with Cinnamon, Mousepad(GTK3) from git and Mousepad(GTK2) from repository, but I can't reproduce this bug. When does the background change, as soon as you open a file? Does this happen everytime? Regarding the warnings/errors, see Bug #11663.
Igor, any news on this issue? I assume that it is not reproducible anymore.
Hi Theo, Yeah, I guess it isn't. And I'm not using Cinnamon anymore.
