From a fresh install of Xubuntu 16.04, when I restore the computer from suspension or I re-log back in after pressing ctrl-alt-delete, I don't see a mouse cursor on the screen. If I move the invisible mouse pointer around, it will still highlight the icons on the task bar or other applications.

If I bring up gnome-terminal (has to be gnome-terminal, not the xfce4 terminal) and type a few characters, the mouse will re-appear.

My hardware is the Logitech MK550 wireless keyboard & mouse combo.

The WM does not manage the mouse cursor, X and the DDX do, so the bug is not in xfce. Closing as invalid, please file a bug for xorg at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/
