Hi!

After more than 10 years using KDE, I dropped KDE from my system today...
XFCE does everything i need - it's slim, beautiful AND FAST like a rocket :-) Thanks for your great work!

The ONLY feature I'm missing is "auto unroll on focus" for shaded windows....

The magic in KDE :
If a shaded window GAINES FOCUS (no matter if it got focus via alt-tab or mouse or wmctrl or whatever) it rolls down - you can work with it and type etc..
When this window LOOSES FOCUS the window rolls up again and only the title is visible.

In short:
unshaded window with focus gets shaded : window rolls up;
shaded without focus : window is rolled up;
shaded with focus : window is rolled down;

It would be great to see this feature in xfwm4...

Regards,

Andi

Quite honestly, I don't like how kwin works in this regard.

In xfce, a shaded window will un-shade automatically when selected from the alt-tab list, but it will not returned to its previous shaded state by itself.

The rationale being that behaviour is that if you explicitly select a window from the alt-tab list, it means that you want to make do something with that window and therefore it makes sense to un-shade it, whereas you might click an existing shaded window (e.g. to move it around) but don't want it un-shaded.

And once un-shaded, I wouldn't want the WM to shade it again for me.

BTW, you know you can use the mouse wheel on the title bar to shade/un-shade the window?
