Hello. IMHO, related with https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10234 (fixed???!) Reproduced in any distr of Linux and version of Thunar and also with last Thunar 1.6.10. 1) Open the Thunar in your PC. Go to smb://<server>/<folder>. Make a new file. 2) Go to <server> PC (Local folder of smb resource) and delete this file. 3) See your Thunar. Thunar not update folder file list. Only F5 (Ctrl-R) can help. (Also you can mount your desktop from the cifs share and make a new file with any another program. Only F5 or "xfdesktop --reload" can help). I would note, that not only Thunar have this problem. (Also Nautilus, Caja, PCManFM...). In any case, it does not add anything good.
Thanks for reporting! > I would note, that not only Thunar have this problem. (Also Nautilus, Caja, PCManFM...). This strongly sounds like a gvfs bug. All file-managers listed use gvfs for remote file systems. (See https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/unix-filesystem#gnome_virtual_file_system) I dont have any smb mount to test. Could you try to run the latest gvfs version and check if the bug still happens ?
