Steps to reproduce:
1. Download some file in chrome browser (I used this http://packages.linuxmint.com/pool/import/x/xfce4-power-manager/xfce4-power-manager_1.4.4-1mint2.dsc )
2. Click open on downloads or download panel, it should be opened in mousepad
3. Mouspead starts to eat memory infinetely
After one hour mouspead ate 4.5 gigs of RAM

PS: Chrome is innonscent, I just don't know another way to reproduce

Seems like chrome restart has helped, it opens files correctly. But only mousepad during that buggy chrome session had memleak. So there is possible huge memleak somewhere...
