Add possibility and interface to add custom sounds for notifications. Maybe shipping a pair of creativecommons sounds with libnotify is a good idea too.

Gnome specification btw has strings with sounds https://developer.gnome.org/notification-spec/

Whether xfce4-notifyd supports it or not there should be possibility to add sound to all notifications, that do not have sound.

Just to give a clear comment: this is currently not planned. While the spec suggests this feature, we still have some other tasks to finish in notifyd (plus I personally wouldn't want to use this feature, so I wouldn't spend any time on it).

I second this, though sending a sound with the notifications works fine for me for now so not a high priority.

I think sound is important.
At least, we should have a key to toggle weather have a sound when a notification comes.
After above complete, then think about the customize section.
It affects my productivity and the accessibility for lacking any sound when a notification comes.
Futhermore, it would better to be that we can toggle the notification sound on/off in a panel plugin such like the PulseAudio Plugin.

Nothing about PulseAudio, just the notification-plugin is fine.

BTW, check this: https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=11317 and use search engine you can find many other people who want like windows 10.

I realized that maybe it doesn't belong to a part of this program which only do the notification function,
but many other program doesn't writing the sound part code which I want when new notification, so it's better if I can force the notification make a sound. In case repeat, it can do per application.

This is very important feature, please reconsider it priority.

E.g. there is Keybase chat app, it's Electron-based, and right now it doesn't have a sound on incoming message notifications "because of upstream bug" (see https://github.com/keybase/client/issues/22101#issuecomment-579851298). It would be very nice to just configure xfce4-notifyd to add a sound to Keybase's notifications.
