It would be great to be able to duplicate an existing panel.

I'm in a setting with 2 monitors and the way the "expand on monitors" for a single panel works do not suit me. e.g. I'd like to have at least my "Workspace Switcher", "Windows Buttons", "Action Buttons" & date/battery status displayed on both monitors, so that I don't have to turn my head to read the time it is or move the mouse to he other monitor to switch a window to another virtual desktop.

With the current "Panel Preferences" I had to create an identical panel as my "Panel 1" from scratch and reconfigure all the "items" on it. It was very annoying.

I tried playing directly with the files, but they appear to be cached/dynamically changed, so it was too complicated too.

PS: the 'Panel Settings' does not appear in your list of "components", so I'll just attache this bug to "General"

Moving this bug over to the "Xfce4-panel" product.

This could partly be achieved by using xfpanel-switch. Then at least you only have to save/restore the correct profile and only create your setup once.

In general I think that this use-case is really a corner case. There are not that many situations when you actually want to duplicate a panel.
