screenshot expected result vs result

I have 5 icons, e.g. one in the center and the other 4 placed around it, resulting in a cross-shape.
I select all icons and drag-and-drop move them to another position on the desktop.
The cross shape now isn't anymore, instead I have 5 vertically stacked icons.
What I and maybe also others would want or expect is the same cross shape only at the new position.

Upgraded xfce4 to debian testing (with pinning) because of this bug: https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1678 which seems to have been solved since 2 years but still isn't available in Debian stable ...

Problem still exists

It's still an issue in xfdesktop 4.12.4 (arch linux).
When will the patched version make it to an "official release"?
