In recent days I was working with recovered files from a damaged hard disk. As the final result included a lot of innecesary stuff, I searched for those files and erased after. So, I open Thunar in the folder, right click, Search in this folder (Catfish opens) and look for the desired mask (ie. *.exe). Then, I press Ctrl-A (select all) and Shift-Del. So far so good, as long as the number of files found is not too big. In my case, found more than 17000 files and when I pressed Shift-Del, Catfish hangs forever and also hangs Thunar. I waited for minutes with no signs, warnings nor progress on behalf of those two. The only way to escape is closing (forced) Catfish.
Ups, sorry, my specs: Xubuntu 15.04 fully updated. Thunar 1.6.6. Couldn't find Catfish's version.
