At work I have a second display attached to my laptop. When after suspending, the laptop is used by itself (say on train home) any LibreOffice interaction becomes slow/impossible (especially saving/opening files). Same for inkscape and often Thunar (but not SpaceFM). This makes use of secondary display or suspend/resume useless as I have to reboot the computer to work normally when not at work. This behaviour began since the new XFCE 4.12.0 was released (I have upgraded everything to latest stable versions, so for Xfce4-session I am on 4.12.1 but no improvement) so I suspect a problem with xfce more than with the mentioned programs. I cannot tell whether it is related to this bug: https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11107
it is not (solely) dependent on the 2nd display but also with disconnecting from work ethernet (and related servers). Would xfce/thunar be searching too long because of shortcuts that have been set up for particular servers which are no longer on-line when resuming in the train? But why would libreoffice be halted by this when a locally loaded file is open but in unworkable form?
