Open any picture in chrome. Drag and drop it in thunar - nothing happens. Drag and drop from firefox works fine. Drag and drop from chrome to nautilus works fine too.

There is a difference between drag and drop drom chrome and ffox. In ffox the mouse icon is hand with white plus. In chrome hand with white plus in green circle.

Drag and drop from Firefox doesn't work for me, I get this message (screenshot attached) when I drag and drop an image from a firefox window (or from the icon left of the URL bar) to a Thunar window:

Failed to create a link for the URL "http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yAkiqKzFY3g/URSn-DMe2KI/AAAAAAAAAOM/bhl3l8hOJ5E/s1600/exile-radio.jpg".
Failed to change to directory 'file:///home/live' (No such file or directory).

thunar 1.6.11-1

Julien, this issue was fixed in Thunar 1.6.15 (see: https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14239).
