Hello, I hope I file this bug in the good section... Since some time, there's a huge lag when I delete a folder or a file directly from the desktop. As we use hundreds of PC where I work, we noticed that it's the same on all of them (even with a lot of ram). Thanks for the amazing job you are doing ! Ben
If you run xfdesktop from the command line and delete or trash a file, do you get a warning like: ** (process:8845): WARNING **: *** Unsupported operation detected on trash directory It may be related to this bug https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10778 which was fixed in gvfs >= 1.23.1 (it wasn't an xfdesktop bug). Let us know if it is or isn't the same bug.
Hello, Thanks for answering that fast ! Indeed this warning is found in .cache/upstart/dbus.log ** (process:2101): WARNING **: *** Unsupported operation detected on trash directory ** (process:2101): WARNING **: dir: /home/xubuntu/.local/share/Trash/files, file: DSCN0071-2.2.JPG, type: 1 So it seems to be the same problem. I am on gvfs 1.20.3, and the problem seems to come from gvfs< 1.23.1. I did all the update, isn't xubuntu 14.04 supposed to have LTS support so to include a "higher" gvfs version if the current one installed is bugging ? Or are we supposed to do it ourself ? Anyway, thanks again !
Please inform the package maintainer about the bug in gvfs. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates
