Well this looks like a problem in Gstreamer. Which version of it are you using?
Also, and more importantly, can you try with the latest stable version of Parole 0.8? With that version you can also select the alternative (and probably preferable) Clutter backend for playback in Parole's settings (Tools > Preferences > Video Output).

Use autoimagesink to use the safest available sink. This eliminates the dreaded 'Could not initialise Xv output' error (Bug #11950)
