Created attachment 6264 thunar-1.6.9 strace update to 1.6.9 gives 100% CPU usage due to .local/share/gvfs-metadata/trash not exist. 1.6.8 behaves normally. gvfs-1.22.4 gtk-2.4.27 thunar-1.6.9 Steps to reproduce: 1. open thunar 2. check cpu usage, notice high percentage. 3. strace thunar process shows .local/share/gvfs-metadata/trash not present 4. downgrade to 1.6.8 version 5. open thunar and notice normal behavior.

this does not change the, still hogs cpu with same gvfs-metadata/trash.

Ok. I also have no metadata/trash here, but it doesn't loop. A few things to try: Can you please patch thunar-1.6.8 with only http://git.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/commit/?id=2d5567b2f6ae6223c8865547704797a5c785ec1f so that we know this is the offending commit? Next, patch thunar-1.6.8 with https://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id=6261 and then https://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id=6262 ? This could be related, so it is also worth a try: With thunar-1.6.9, revert this patch: http://git.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/commit/?id=98300e06651362af1075dd4bc263b9761b4a8b66
2d5567b2f6ae6223c8865547704797a5c785ec1f commit makes thunar-1.6.8 to hog CPU.
