I have a specific use case that requires logging terminal activity to a file. The user would like to select "Log to file" from a pull down menu and choose the path to log to.

Questions to the maintainers:
Are you open to accepting patches that add this feature?
If yes, do you have any input or suggestions?

You can use the 'script' unix command for that...

Also, ability to save terminal contents to file has been added.
