I am using xfce on Ubuntu 14.10 and /usr/bin/X has a 100% load for 1-2 minutes after resuming from standby. During that time, interaction with via keyboard/mouse is limited. I can trigger the same effect using xmodmap -pke > .Xmodmap xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap Nothing suspicious in .xsession-errors or /var.log/Xorg.0.log as far as I can tell. What information do you need? What should I test next (easiest way to test the newest release candidate maybe?)? This looks similar to a very old bug here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/998310
How does that relate to xfwm4? What does top say? If an app is using the X server extensively, it'll show up in top as well...
> How does that relate to xfwm4? I am not sure which part of xfce is the problem, but suspend/resume won't cause this problem if I am running a gnome session. > What does top say? Nothing has a very high load, but I just realized that xfsettingsd runs with ~10% during that time.
I think my bug is a duplicate of https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11497 except that the high load goes away after about a minute. Should I go ahead and mark this as a duplicate?

the symptoms look very similar to https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11497 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 11497 ***
