I'm getting an error on SVN revision 17677.  When I try to configure 
libxfce4util, I get "checking for C compiler default output file name... 
configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables".  Attached is the 
config.log which has more context, but I'm not sure if any of it is useful.

This isn't an xfce problem.  Make sure your autotools are up to date (automake
1.8+, autoconf 2.53+, libtool 1.5+) and rerun autogen.sh.
