I'm used to search for a document I want by using CTRL+F in the root folder, so that I get a list of files which contains the string I type. However, on Thunar (1.6.3), this doesn't work. CTRL+F seems to be searching only in the current folder, and only in the start of the name of the files.

For searching you need a custom action that calls an external tool like catfish.
