The current behavior might be ok and expected. But heres my problem:

When you for instance have a web browser running in workspace 2, and you do your work in workspace 1 and open a URL from a document or similar. The Window button (taskbar) of your web browser starts blinking in workspace 1 until you click it, which bring you to the browser and it is focused.

This is also extremely annoying with applications like Skype.
Let's say Skype is running on workspace 4 and you focus on your work on workspace 1. Whenever someone drop you a line, the window button will continue to flash until you take action and click it and it brings you to workspace 4 and Skype message window gets focus. I'm not sure, but i believe it has something to do with 'Urgency window hinting'.

Would be ok if it was blinking in its own workspace, as long as it don't steal my focus.

This should at least be configurable to give the users a choice.
