Hi, I'm on Xubuntu 14.04 and I use the 4.12 PPA. Since the add of the PPA, change the desktop backdrop don't change the background of the login screen. Before the update, it was working.
Which version of xfdesktop4 is currently installed? Please run the terminal command "apt-cache policy xfdesktop4" and attach the output to this report.

Can I ask where your desktop backdrop is - this works fine for me, my backdrops are all in /usr/share/xfce4/backdrops/.
backdrop are in /usr/share/xfce4/backdrops/ and they are readable for everyone. I tryed to remove the ppa and purge it and the bug is still present. The problem comes probably from another package ? Is it possible to change the background of the login screen manually ?
I found a solution. I uncheck the checkbox "apply to all workspace" and recheck this, and the login screen change !
