Description MR ZenWiz 2014-08-27 08:02:35 CEST
There are a whole slew of items in the Other and System menus on my desktop (Xubuntu 14.04 fresh install, Phenom II x6 CPU) that do not show up in the menu but are visible in menulibre.

However, when I make changes in the menus using menulibre, they don't take effect, or worse, they take the wrong effect.

E.g.: The last time I tried to make more items visible in the Other menu, instead of that happening the Other menu disappeared from the menu altogether. I had to reset the Other menu to not show, then show, and log out and log back in before anything happened, and then none of my other changes took effect (the missing items are still not there, and the same ones as before remain).

This completely defeats the point of having a GUI menu editor.

If I knew where the menus were configured, I'd edit them with vi until they worked properly.

In the Xubuntu community email list, no one else knows of an editor that works.

Please fix or give us one that works.

Thanks.

This has nothing to do with the panel itself, but is - at best - a bugreport against menulibre (which has improved a lot since this report).
