i set my desktop pc cpu(amd x2 3000Mhz) to "userspace 1800Mhz" or "conservative" governor. After some idle time period xfce power manager set to "3000Mhz" and cpu heat jump to 54C even idle.(critical temp:60C, dangerous temp:90C on bios) (Normaly, with "userspace 1800Mhz" or "conservative" in idle state temp: 36C-38C) Please don't be like w!ndows and give control to hardware owner. This is unacceptable for linux. I want only: if I left my computer idle (on battery or electric line), cpu must be cool and drain minimum current (this is also for safety and hardware lifetime). You can fix this with a simple "disable cpu frequency managament" button. Please fix this. Thank you.
There was a cpu governor option in xfpm, however newer versions of xfpm don't attempt to do any cpu frequency management and the option is gone.
CPU frequency settings are neither supported nor changed by XFPM any more (>=1.3.0). Closing this bug.
