Hello, I have xubuntu 14.04 runing on a 64bit desktop. I keep the computer ON most the time and I lock the screen when I leave. If the screen is locked for a long period of time (2 days) and when I try to unlock it, I get black screen and no response from the keyboard. If the screen is only locked for a short time, the unlocking works fine. This seems similar to a bug reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-power-manager/+bug/1303736 but it's not the same. As I said I have a desktop, and I do not suspend or hybernate. Hope someone can tell me an easy solution. Thanks, Andrey
Hey, this bug is most certainly unrelated to xfce4-power-manager, as it doesn't directly handle the locking. It's either light-locker or (more likely) lightdm-gtk-greeter. I've read several reports about it but still haven't been able to reproduce the issue myself. The odd thing is that we don't do anything special in the greeter (which is in this case your lockscreen) with respect to DPMS, we only blank the screen. Anyway, this issue will be investigated in the greeter, the power-manager is – as I said – most likely not the issue because it doesn't interact with the locking.
