I'm sorry, but this will not be implemented. It complicates things too much and probably most users will not need this. Besides, you can add a second instance of the weather plugin to the panel, using the other unit type. Just make sure the coordinates are not exactly the same to avoid write collisions regarding the cache file, but for the results it doesn't matter if the altitude is one unit higher or lower.
