The problem is the following: A) Pressing the <Super> key open the Applications Menu. Good so far. B) Pressing AND HOLDING the <Super> key also opens the Applications Menu. B is bad. The Applications Menu should not open before the <Super> key is released. The reason is the following -- if the menu pops up immediately, then it breaks "keyboard shortcut flow". Any keyboard shortcut with <Super> key in it simply won't work, making the <Super> key utterly useless for mapping any keyboard shortcuts. And if <Super> key is useless for shortcuts, it will mean that most of us will have TWO keys on our keyboard purely for opening the Applications Menu. I'm sure you all agree that this is less than optimal. Now, if the menu would pop open when the <Super> key is RELEASED, it would solve this issue. As far as I know, no Applications Menu function requires holding down the <Super> key and if you want to open the menu on purpose, you will release the key anyway, right? Also, if <Super> key would be used in a keyboard shortcut in a combination with another key, the Applications Menu should NOT pop up. Thank you for the attention.
