The color of the slider is always applied from the current theme, regardless of the "Use default color" setting.

This is inconvenient because with some themes the background of the slider and the slider itself gets a very similar color (or even the same). This renders it barely visible.

Bug in gtk2? The gtk_widget_modify_* functions appear to work for all widgets except progress bars.

I just checked and xfce4-systemload-plugin is affected by this too.

I tried xfce4-sensors-plugin, and xfce4-cpugraph-plugin, and they doesn't seem to be affected.

They are on my system. I can see various colors for the graph in xfce4-cpugraph-plugin and various colors for the text in xfce4-sensors-plugin, but the progress bar widgets in both use the theme default.
