Description flocculant 2014-03-24 08:31:56 CET
Start the Settings Manager from the menu, description for the GUI reads

Customise your desktop

This no longer reflects what the settings manager does.

Many other tools get populated into this manager - example gparted

Maybe something as simple as

System Settings

would suffice as the description.

I guess this depends a bit on how you interpret "desktop". Could be the thing that's the "opposite" of a laptop, could be the thing that shows your wallpaper below all windows, could be your "desktop environment".

I see a similar problem with "System", to be honest, so I'm not sure that's really an improvement.

The main issue though is that basically it's up to app-devs and distributors what ends up in that dialog, so it's generally impossible to find a description that fits all. My conclusion would be to leave it as is, as that also doesn't create work for translators. Could you live with that?

I'm not worried enough about this to care one way or the other now tbh. :)

OK, marking as wontfix then.
