Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit Thunar v1.6.3 Reproducibility 100% Type of issue: User Experience Description: When deleting or sending files to the trash, the view of files will scroll up or down to an area that was not previously being viewed. This bug is much more noticable in folders with many files. Step to reproduce problem: 1. Run commands mkdir testfolder cd testfolder for i in $(seq 500); do touch $i.txt; done mkdir "really long folder name" 2. Thunar go into testfolder 3. delete file 500.txt (Deletion works as expected with files) 4. leave and re-enter testfolder 5. delete file 300.txt (Deletion is now causing file view to scroll)
Noticed with thunar 1.6.7 and 1.6.8 (and maybe earlier) Testbed: Folder with many files (a need to scroll) 1.) New thunar session, move to testbed, copy, paste and deletion doesn't jump the view 2.) Change location and come back (Where thunar saves the view position) 3.) Delete or insert files and thunar jumps to the saved view position
Just encountered this in 1.6.13, where it is still a problem. At the same time, the current git version (1.7.0git-ba48c5ba) works fine.
