On one of my machines, which runs Fedora 18 with XFCE4 and xfce4-terminal 0.4.8
I was able to use xfce-terminal's Edit|Preferences|Shortcut screen to cancel the default use of F1 as a help button by clicking on Help|Content.

This is important to me because I do most of my development on the terminal and my usual editor (microemacs) uses all the function keys. In particular, F1 starts a search in the buffer and F10 exits the editor. I want all function keys, but especially these two, readable by programs running in the terminal.

However, after an upgrade to Fedora 20 and xfce4-terminal 0.6.3 I find that the Preferences dialogue has changed drastically. The shortcuts tab has vanished entirely and, while the ability to make F10 readable by programs running in the terminal had been moved to the Advanced tab, the developers forgot to take the ability to make F1 readable by programs along with it: there is *plenty* of room
on the 'Advanced tab to have done that.

Kindly add an F1 function key tick box to the Advanced tap so its obvious that this is how the function key can be made readable by programs running in the terminal.

Yes, I know about the undocumented kludge:

1 Go to settings -> appearance -> settings on the Applications Menu.
2 Check the 'enable editable accelerators' checkbox if it's not already set.
3 Open up a xfce4-terminal.
4 Go to the "help" menu and hover over it (without selecting anything,
  just keep the menu open).
5 Hit backspace.

... but this is not only undocumented (I just checked the online documentation
and searched both forums and Bugzilla, finding nothing about it) but this method is quite counter-intuitive and not really fit for purpose.

========
I look forward to seeing control of F1-help appearing in Preferences quite soon, so I'll just say thanks in advance for doing it.
